BLACK BLOOD
by Hayate Kuku
(18+, jap. 2023, eng. 2025)
one-shot volume
cole's blurb: "this one is for the robot fuckers who like a damaged synth-man finding love in a human's sweet touch"
in this human x synth first love story, written from the cyborg's perspective, the story starts as Ethan, a retired cyborg solider, is stationed at a secluded research base as part of the security team. he meets the botanist Mihail, and the two start going on research missions together. Mihail is enchanted by Ethan’s kindness toward him, and Ethan starts having fluid leaks whenever Mihail gets to up close and personal. the setting is a cyberpunk-like future, but the tone is much more romantic comedy with some existentialism found in Ethan struggles with being a veteran and former organic human. i found the descriptions of touch between human and synths to be incredibly alluring, and this manga is not afraid to get graphic.
EAT
by Nagabe
(18+, jap. 2024, eng. 2025)
one-shot volume
cole's blurb: "this one is for the robot fuckers who like a damaged synth-man finding love in a human's sweet touch"
in this delicious and salacious one-shot story, the strict wolf Professor Lufria, who has a secret kink where he wants to be eaten, finds himself involved with one of his own students, Gulla the goat, who is has massive build and an even bigger appetite. if you are familiar with Nagabe, you will love the rich, dark inks of his art style on display and also love the new BL story he cooks up in this multi-taboo soaked work. my friends and i were drooling at the leaks prior to its english release, and the translated edition is a savory treat that will look great on your manga ‘spice rack.’ my highest compliments go to Nagabe’s talent for writing a vore/cannibalism fetish in such a way that does not turn-off the more vanilla types and also shows how irl role play of such fetishes can be done. often times, this type of kink goes to the dead dove ending, but in EAT, it is explored between two parties who come to an understanding of mutual fantasy fulfillment without bad ends.
Fox-Colored Jealousy
by Machi Suehiro
(18+, jap. 2020, eng. 2024)
one-shot volume with spin-off 'Kind of Wolf'
cole's blurb: "this one is for the robot fuckers who like a damaged synth-man finding love in a human's sweet touch"
full disclosure, upon a re-read of this for my rec, the first chapter has a makeout seen and it got me way too hot and bothered lol. this is a really cute read about a nervous, blushy twink named Akiha who has a small problem: he has a fox spirit who possess his body and acts mischieviously all while Akiha lives semi-conciously thru all the fox's antics. the handsome Yukuri takes a liking to Akiha, and it seems that the fox spirit likes Yukuri since it now listens to commands (pet play scenario? lol). i love this manga for its cute art, cozy supernatural story, and great intimacy scene at the end.
Kind of Wolf
by Machi Suehiro
(18+, jap. 2020, eng. 2021)
one-shot volume spin-off of 'Fox-Colored Jealousy'
cole's blurb: "a great one-shot staring a gamer wolfboy and his intimidating upperclassman biker neighbor, soooo delicious"
first off, this is a spin-off from the other manga i have rec'd here Fox Colored-Jealousy. staring the wolf-cursed classmate from that manga, this one revolves around his struggles dealing with hieghtened 'wolf instincts' during the full moon. his neighbor, who also happens to be his senior at university, happens to catch him all wolf'd out, but doesn't mention it at all the next time they see each other! the majority of the book is the two getting to know each other, spending more time together, getting closer, maybe going on a date? you know, the classic BL style of figuring out crushes. i will note that both of them are cannonically queer instead of the typical 'but we're both boys' trope i see way too much of, which is A+. the art is so crisp, the fangs we see on Hayato make a super cute wolf boy, and there are three intimacy scenes that have plot relevance, astounding work!
My Boyrfriend is a Dog
by Kadiro
(18+, jap. 2022, eng. 2024)
currently 2 volumes published
cole's blurb: "the best beastman x human manga i have read to date, and the artist is very active on socials posting more hot furries!"
beastman x human is one of my fav pairing tropes. when i read them, i get to envision myself as the human with a beastman partner and feeling his fur and sharp teeth, but i also get imagine myself as the beastman with claws to sharpen and a tail i can wag. Kadiro presents one the cutest couples as already established with a flashback chapter later in the work showing how they met. it is rare you see a BL story follow a couple already made, so if you would like to read a sweet story about a dog-man and his blond bf getting the hang of living together, this one is for you. i think this work would be great for anyone starting out in the more furry side of BL too (always good to convert more people to the furry side muehehe)
