Murderbot (TV-MA, 2025) is about a security robot who hacked the governing module in its programming that forced it to obey orders. now able to fully operate without restrictions, it has been stationed with an unknowing crew who comes from a different part of the galaxy where evolved ai models are respected as equal beings instead of as property. while Murderbot still takes orders from them as to not appear rouge, it often is challenged by the hippie lifestyle crew’s quirky and compassionate treatment. the show is a great sci-fi comedy about a social awkward robot trying to find its place in a universe that it was made to kill but all it wants to do is watch soap operas on its headset.
