you will notice on this site i use the term 'furry community' over the usual 'furry fandom'. fandom implies that furries exist as a result of a media franchise, and while there are a lot of franchises with anthro characters, furries operate without any pre-existing media. the creation of one's fursona is very personal and a work of creation for the sake of self.

fan works are recreations of popular media, which are also often made for the sake of self (mostly self indulgence). there are some great original furry stories that i have recs for in books, webcomics, and manga, but if you want to enjoy some franchises you like in a new way with fan fics, here is where my recs are for that!
